I am one of those people that the candidates would probably love to talk to and try to sway me to their side of the camp to cast a vote for them. I do have a McCain/Palin sign in my front yard and I live in one of the battleground states - Ohio, but I am not 100% sold on either candidate. Sometimes I even teeter over toward Obama, mostly McCain though.
While I don't trust McCain or Obama very much they are obviously the only 2 we have to choose from, sometimes I wish Mickey Mouse was running. Both candidates will say whatever they want to say - lie or not, it doesn't really matter to them as long as they get the vote. Why won't Obama talk about the characters he has hung out with in the past. He will only say that he did not know the views they held at first. Yeah, right Obama. You honestly think that I or anyone else would believe that. If I am going to get into bussiness with someone you are darn right I am going to know what kind of person they are. He knew, I don't buy his story one bit.
I would absolutely love for both men to tell me why I should vote for them - on thier merits, their record without putting down the other guy. It is always telling us what the other person did or didn't do, I don't want to hear that anymore, tell me what you can do better. I would love for them to tell us all why they would be the better president, again, without mocking the other guy. I don't think they can do that.
John McCain is no doubt an American hero. How he served this country, when he was captured, incredible, my hat is off to him. But I don't want that to be the only reason I lean toward him. But Obama just scares the heck out of me. Not much experience - that is frightening, but sometimes someone with little experience can be better than someone with a whole lot of experience. I don't know. Would I choose a doctor who has only done 1 medical transplant or would I choose the doctor who has performed many? Of course I would choose the one who has the experience, but yes I know that is not how I should look at my vote for the next president.
I do love some of the proposals for Obama's health care plan, and am not so sure about McCain's. But still it goes right back down to the basic question I have. Do I trust Obama? Do I trust McCain? There is more to worry about than the economy, though that is a huge worry. If we are attacked again who would be best in office because an attack could make things spiral out of control in America. Whoever is elected is going to have one tough time getting us out of the mess we are all in now.
As of now, I still have a ton of questions for both candidates. I have listened to what both of them have to say about their policies and I'm not sold on either one yet. I guess it will fall down to the trust issue, at least it will for me. Who do I trust the most in oval office? Oh Ross Perot where are you?
